The Dow gained 1.3% in 2008's final academic term, closure one of the stock market's rack up eld on a shiny note. Blue chips fell 34% for the time period, the S&P 500 plummeted 39% and the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations was off 41%. Vegetable oil prices jumped.
